Dr Grimsley is possibly the most unfit counselor that exists in modern day society. I understand the method of the "harsh truth" but I have never even attended her for exams or for the need of a counselor & I watched her brutally verbally disrespect a female friend of mine bc she was 7 minutes late for an appointment. I them am I'm the process of receiving short term disability for numerous physical health issues I have & social security scheduled me for a mental health status exam. Very kind and understanding and worked with me to help me understand my issues.
If zero stars were an option, I would choose that. However, it isn’t. So… I was referred to this provider for my oldest daughter. She was a member of our church. Both daughters needed to have some psychiatric testing. I let her know we couldn’t afford any surprises or large out of pocket amounts. We left it at that. Some time later at church she let me know we could now see her because she contacted our insurance and they would cover whatever services. We had the testing done and started seeing her for therapy. Dr. Grimsley has helped me with countless issues during my time with her - she's more than willing to reschedule appointments & take phone calls when I am in need. She is tough and will tell you what you need to hear instead of what you want to hear. She had the gumption to provide me with a much-needed psych exam that led to much-needed mental health diagnoses & ultimately medication via a psychiatrist. Dr. Grimsley is the so-called psychiatrist who deemed me mentally unfit to teach, which is not true. I had a mental crisis 10-23-24 and had to be hospitalized, a fit-for-duty was ordered by College of the Mainland, and I went to this appointment. The appointment consisted of an extremely long psych survey with probably 600 questions. My memory is good enough to recall one asked if I had "flown across the Atlantic Ocean to Africa thirty times last year."
