I was referred by Dr. Hinman to an orthopedic surgeon who was unable to accept my referral. That surgeon corrected Dr. Hinman and referred me to a hand-fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon. The hand surgeon told me that, due to the delay in treatment for my fractured finger, there was nothing he could do at that point. As a result of the delay in treatment, I will need a fusion procedure in the future for my finger.
