BEWARE!! Low balls price to reel you in and then once in contract, nickle and dimed EVERYTHING as an additional expense, even though we discussed our wants in our custom home upon first meeting. Framing crew work was equivalent to a kindergartner. The whole process was a nightmare because of horrible lack of communication among their employees.
Got a good quote and we went with this builder for a 3,000 SF house. Not only did it take an extra 6 months to build the house but they took cost cutting shortcuts everywhere. Basement drains don't go to the sump pump, a couple pvc pipes have cuts in them and leak, finish trim has gaps/issues everywhere, missing siding trim pieces, many areas where paint was missing or running down the walls, no home wrap applied before the siding (was told it's an extra $4k), basement floor is wavy and doesn't fall to the drains, etc. You g... read more
Great company that has built several homes for my close friends. I wouldn't just recommend anyone to my friends. Mark does what he says and builds a great house from ground up. They go the extra step to make sure it is what you always dreamed about "in your dream house". I work with several contractors on a daily basis and Mark and his company are TOP NOTCH and very dependable.
BUYER BEWARE of both 'Kilbarger homes' and Price Custom homes (Price development). They had been co owners of "Distinctive homes" all in Carroll OH. We have mega damage to our home which was negligently built by Distinctive in 2006-2007. Are ripping off all stucco now. Shingles/roof wrong, no flashing, incorrect or no waterproofing behind stucco.
