We import all of our antiques and furniture from Japan directly, ourselves. All of our tansu are unique and were made between 1870 and 1930. Each piece has been carefully and thoroughly restored. Our workshop in San Carlos employs a team of dedicated craftsmen who bring the beauty and functionality of antique tansu back to life. Our extensive selection can accommodate a wide range of budgets. While we do carry exquisite museum-quality items, many of our pieces are surprisingly affordable.

Really cool niche store if you’re looking for Japanese antique furniture (e.g. Tansu chests). They are only open on Saturdays, but the women said that if there is a specific piece you are interested in, they can sometimes accommodate weekday visit (if they are working on restorations that day).
A really cool place with a lot of craftsmanship on display. And that craftsmanship isn't strictly imported, they do quite a bit of work at the shop too. Even if you're not looking to buy, it's a treat to check out on a Saturday!
