I paid $800.00 to have 2-door locks changed; a Handyman painted our door, took the door knob off and accidentally put it back on wrong. The first thing out of the Technician’s mouth was, “I’m going to have to charge you $200.00 to fix it.” He spent less than $20 minutes changing two locks and made $800.00. The keys were completely accurate. I have had keys made at hardware stores in the past, and had to return them when they didn’t work. But the keys I got from the kiosk are very precise. You can also get them in different patterns and colors, making it easier to grab the one you want when you need to unlock a door.
There is an automated key kiosk in the Rite Aid. It is easier than tracking someone down at Lowe’s or McLendons. Typical house key was $9. Not as versatile as a real locksmith but key problem solved.
