Key Bank must be the only bank in USA where they will not cash a $2000 check to non customers. So ridiculous, I am sure they would be happy charging you the typical $7.50 to cash a $100 check though.
I have an investment that KeyBank issued, and it has reached maturity. I went in to the bank to cash it, and was told I no longer qualify to cash out my investment with them. If I wanted to start a new account with them, I could qualify to cash it out after my new account has been open for 1 YEAR. They are happy to take your money, just don’t expect to get it back anytime soon.
