I self-referred to Dr. Welks in late 2025 at the recommendation of a trusted provider. I have several health symptoms which might suggest autoimmune involvement and I needed to rule it out, or in. Without any testing or labwork, Dr. Welks said he didn't believe I have AI. I am now being referred to evaluate for possible SLE at UWMC instead. I even shared my recent test results with Dr. Welks as an update, who responded to tell me that LabCorp is not trustworthy (???). I was very impressed with my doctor. Looking forward to hopefully being pain free.
He listened, BUT he didn't hear, didn't exam. I expected to be examined by a SPECIALIST but didn't. I think he had his mind made up before I arrived. Would not advise using him as a Rheumatologist!
