If you want to have a picnic for a couple hours at a pavilion on a weekend it costs $75(!) and must be booked at least a week in advance. At that price I expect someone to be there cooking the hotdogs for me and calling me sir. Does it come with a hotel room? THIS is a great example of the gentrification that's ruining Kent. I can no longer afford to live here and now I can't even afford to cook for myself in the woods.

KP&R has always treated our family well, and I can be a bit of a Type A, pain. (: Their summer camp at the rec center is fun and engaging. Megan is great at creating an engaging curriculum. Our son would come home sweaty, tired, and having had learned new experiences to share with us daily. He learned about friendships, who he does and does not want as friends, our community, and most importantly himself. We love the local experiences they provide and the diversity going there gives.
