Adopt - Don't Buy Kent Animal Shelter is a no-kill shelter. Although I have not adopted from them, I know people who did. I have used the clinic to spay three dogs, both male and female. They are very, very reasonably priced and offer fast, excellent spaying service and vaccinations. PROS: Low cost spaying CONS: They don't always return phonecalls.
Spraying Clinic I found a stray Kitten & adopted him, Well I was looking for low cost spraying, Since vet offices are so expensive. I called them It cost me $34.00 & 20 more if I wanted all his shots. What a good deal. They were also very nice there. I would recomment them to all. PROS: reasonable rates CONS: none
Rudy's Story Review by Cindy F. & Bobby D. We reached out to Kent Animal Shelter because we heard some great things about this particular shelter....well, here is my story about "Rudy"....we rescued this 13 year old Schnauzer on a very cold January night.....the dog was clearly disoriented and huddled against a stop sign in West Babylon, the dog had no collar and was physically in bad shape, his fur was severely matted, he was undernurished, he had a bad limp, so we scoured the neighborhood for the owner with no luck. We wen... read more
A great place for animals We adopted a dog and a cat here over the years. They are a no kill shelter which is wonderful and they provide affordable veterinary care for animals. The staff is professional and caring. The offer top notch medical car on premises as well and they have excellent rates for spay/neuter to make it possible for everyone to be a responsible pet owner. The shelter is a bit out of the way but once on premises parking is easy. PROS: Professional, caring, good rates CONS: none
Adopt a Pet... I recently adopted an 8-week-old puppy from the shelter. My husband and I went to get some info about adopting for a friend of ours. We were invited to walk through the shelter and see what dogs they had available. Well, I fell for so many of their innocent faces that I wanted to take all of the dogs home with me. I walked around the back of the shelter (it's a square shaped building) and saw two of the smallest puppies I had ever seen. They were brothers, Teddy and Travis. They had been brought to the shelter... read more
A Tribute to Maggie I adopted a "shaggy" terrier then named Waffle 12 yrs. ago from the shelter, at that time she was 9 mos. old. She looked just like Benji. She was the most devoted and loving pet. I always felt safe with her around. My heart is very sad today, because I had her put to sleep this past week weekend. She was pure love. I miss her. In time, I will be back to the shelter to look for a new best friend. We always came there for our meds and shots. The staff is very caring.
