Kenny Mac is a great barber, with a great eye for setting a relaxing atmosphere. When I walked in the shop I immediately felt relaxed and at ease. Kenny was personable when I walked in the shop for the first time. He has approachable, sociable energy which I appreciate. He was able to give me a haircut that is exactly what I wanted. I'd been searching for a black barber shop on the north side and stumbled upon Kenny Mac's in Uptown. I started going in August 2024 and immediately noticed the welcoming environment and professionalism of the barbers. Everyone is personable and easy to converse with. Whether we are talking about my move to Chicago, the latest anime shows, or my hometown of Saint Louis, I've been impressed with how the barbers really get to know their clients and connect. A.O. is one of the best barbers I've ever had, she knows what she's doing and is passionate about it and it shows in her work. Also, I really like the atmosphere in the shop

I’m usually hesitant to try a new barber because of my sensitive skin—too many rushed cuts have left me regretting it. But at Kenny’s Mac, that wasn’t the case. I booked a random appointment with AO, and I can honestly say I’ve never been this happy with a haircut. Even though I live in River North with a barber just three minutes away, I’ll gladly make the trip to Uptown every week for this level of precision and care.
