Had my home built in 2012. Recently discovered that their fireplace installation was horribly done, violated at least two well-known building codes, and could have easily burned my house down. Charring was found in my roof due to violating the code about how close the roof decking and insulation could be to the chimney - not to mention violation of other codes.
