Three weeks ago, I brought my SUV to Peter after hearing a grinding noise from the rear end. He seemed confident at first — said it was likely a differential issue and quoted me around $1,300 for parts and $700 for labor. STAY AWAY!!! This guy is an absolute scam artist! I was on vacation in peachland and the rear caliper on my truck siezed and Peter was the only one available to help me on a Sunday. He mad me bring the vehicle to him saying he had a secure yard. I got the truck back from him a couple hours later and he charged me $300. He told me what the problem was and how he fixed it but when I got 5 minutes down the road I heard the same grinding sound and he refused to answer the phone. Got my car back on the road in no time. Solved the issue right away and outside of normal working hours! Peter is fair and honest... Doesn't add unnecessary things to the bill.
Worst experience ever. I broke down on the side of the road just outside of Vernon, limped to lakeside where I decided that I should not drive any further because my front differential was making noises and heating up. This was 10 at night, the only mechanic I could find at that hour was Peter. He said tow it to his place, he has a secure yard, and he would have a look at it, and if I wanted to take it elsewhere I could. This was 2 months ago.
