Driving up Revere Beach Blvd and saw Kelly's, not a long line, thought i had heard of the place somewhere in my travels. Stashed my yankees hat under the car seat and headed in. Fried clams to die for – Great venue for fried clams and oinion rings. I was in California for 5 years and while on the West Coast would dream of Kelly's Fried Clams. On brief trips back, would head there for an inexpensive evening and with a view of the Atlantic Keep your food close! The seagulls are very crafty. LG BEEF, CHZ, SOS! – If you're a Kelly's virgin, do yourself a favor and order it up just like this: Large roast beef, pickles, onions, cheese, horseradish, BBQ Sauce on the SIDE (on the bun makes it a touch too soggy)! Clean dining room, nicer fast food experience – I had heard of Kelly's roast beef as a local restaurant and always thought it was a sit down table service kind of place. It isn't, it is counter ordering with table delivery. The food is good, and there are more options that a regular fast food restaurant. The staff is nice and the service is rapid. great food, nice atmosphere for a "fast food" – I tried the lobster roll here - AMAZING - the lobster: bread ratio is crazy (meat from 2 lobsters!!) & I love that they toast the bun also. The roast beef sandwich is also great, and served overflowing with meat. The fries taste home-style & even the fountain coke tasted "real". It's a very nice, warm atmosphere for a "fast food" place. Great for families also.
Grease Grease and more Grease – We hadn't been to Kellys on the beach for many years. I did remember the clams as being a little greasy, but when we went today, i didnt believe it. they were heavy, dry and rubbery. the onion rings were tasteless and felt like biting into a pile of dirt. the staff was friendly enough, and the location is great, but I wont go again.
REAL ROAST BEEF!!! – Now, coming from the west coast, there are some regional food that you only HEAR about... REAL Philly Cheesesteaks... REAL Italian Beef Sandwiches... Still a classic after all these years -- and best value (and chicken fingers) anywhere – Wow. I've been going to Kelly's since I was a kid -- and I'm 50 now. Over all those years, Kelly's is still my family's favorite place to go for fast food prepared to order from good-quality ingredients.
