The hype is real. Chris figured out the 29er way before everyone else. I bought a second hand roshambo and its been getting way more seat time that my 29 plus geared hardtail. This bike RIPS, climbs like a goat and is stiff in the right places. When the tire pressure is dialed in the bike absolutely floats, and flys over the chunky stuff.
I bought bone stock road frame in 2002 OX platium steel. Best frame ever owned. No flex when climbing and handles like a sport motorcycle!
The first photo is my new Bonestock V53 which Chris built for me. He is a true artist. The bike is absolutely beautiful and rides like it's on rails. The orange one is my Tomasso that he stripped and repainted for me. Again a true artist. This should be the last bike you ever buy.

Owner and master frame builder was easy to work with and created several epic frames for me. Do yourself a favor and have al least one steel bike in your arsenal.
