This doctor unfairly judged me based on missed appointments from over a year and a half ago, without considering the full context. When a board complaint was filed, she became upset and refused to see me again. If I had been treated with respect and professionalism from the beginning, the situation would never have escalated. Her response was disappointing and unprofessional.
My husband requested a refill on a medication as his provider had left the clinic. He had been transferred to the NP within the same practice. NP was on maternity leave so Dr. Hornbrook answered request for a medication refill. No context of my husband's conditions she told him twice to seek another provider as she didn't deal with his condition. Not professional or polite regarding interactions. Unfortunately Iowa Clinic may lose a patient over this experience.
She has been such an advocate for me in getting the proper care when other providers didn't listen. She takes her time to address concerns, is non-judgmental and wants the best for her patients. Can't thank her enough for being my provider over the last several years!
Dr.K Hornbrook is very caring and listens to your questions and she is thorough when doing exams and appointments. Highly recommend Dr. K Hornbrook as a primary doctor.
Awful experience with Dr. Hornbrook. Needed a prescription refill for thyroid and she denied refill until seen. Was told if scheduled an appointment could get refill, so scheduled an appointment but then refused to refill the script even though was completely out of medicine. After several phone calls back and forth with receptionist and being put on hold for a long duration was told to go find a new doctor.
