Always delicious!
When you’re eating at a restaurant and already planning your next visit you know that you’re on to something special. Really good menu and great ingredients. Everything was fresh and delicious. We over ordered so we could take food home. We were there for an early lunch but the bar looked inviting so we’ll be back for dinner to try it out.
Unfortunately, the only thing we genuinely enjoyed at Kawa Ni was the matcha tiramisu. Most of the food was seriously over-seasoned and over-spiced. The Pork Szechuan Dumplings, for example, were so aggressively spicy that we couldn’t taste much beyond the heat. Spicy food should still have balance and flavor—not just overwhelm your palate. Excellent food, I really enjoyed the unique items. There are a lot of things I still want to try on the menu. Loved the swordfish bao buns and the lamb dan dan noodles. The noodles were amazing and my favorite dish of the night. I didn’t expect the swordfish to be fried but in the end I think it was the right decision. Also had the Szechuan dumplings which were delicious but packed a punch. Unlike the noodles which were on the menu as spicy but I didn’t get any spice at all from them.
