Overall this is a great company. The machine shop under the lead of Eric Boydston is terrible. There is no processing laid out in terms of how to manufacture any part. A lot of the engineering drawings shows GD&T, yet there is no Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) to properly inspect parts. They have no flatness checker, so flatness is inspection as parallelism. If this company wants to grow, it will need a machine shop leader that is capable in understanding GD&T and the proper methods of inspecting an engineering drawing.
This is an excellent company to work with. We had an older sputtering system with a propretary ion source that failed. They worked with us to build a custom package to retrofit one of their cathodes. Even after the initial larger purchase their support has been phenomenal and fast. We are very appreciative that they are working well with universities.
I have been able to partner with KRI for a number of years and I am always so impressed with their innovation, acumen and pioneering approach to ion source technology. They are leaders in their field and they take their work very seriously. It is wonderful to be associated with such a respected organization.
