Katy is an absolutely fantastic artist who has a keen eye for details and composition in both landscape paintings and still life. I have had the privilege of visiting her at her home studio during Art Trails open studios and her work is beyond compare. I especially love her cloudscapes of Sonoma County. I also recently learned that she now shows at Sebastopol Gallery, which means you can now see her art all year round. I met Katy Boggs at Sonoma County open studios and was delighted with her seascapes and cloudscapes especially. There is something almost alive about the way she uses white oils to capture the texture and movement of foaming surf. I bought a small 4 x 4 inch oil painting called "Curving Surf" and hung it at the entry to my kitchen. Every time I walk in or out of the room I see the painting and I feel more peaceful, and a gentle smile comes over my face. Thank you Katy!

To begin with, it's a beautiful place to visit. Katy's studio is set in a quiet and scenic setting. One can really enjoy not only her art, but a conversation with the artist in a lovely peaceful environment. Most importantly, Katy's paintings are beautiful and reflect the beauty of the area. I'm particularly drawn to her paintings of clouds and find that they sometimes sit somewhere between realistic and abstract, which I love. Katy takes great care with her work and it shows.
