They made me a great set of davits for my boat and I was super happy with them, and then as soon as they shipped the product they dropped off the face of the earth. They sent me bolts that were not marine rated and rusted through in a few months - All I really wanted was to know what type of bolt they used so that I could buy one that was marine rated and matched (or have them send me some. Would have been super easy to keep a happy customer - but no response whatsoever.
I’ve been in this business (yacht restoration and building) for a long time and everyone in this business knows who Kato Marine is. My experience with them (I had high hopes) was less than stellar. Took two weeks to get a quote on some stainless work and the quote was ridiculously high for what I needed done. While I realize this is Annapolis and the businesses here charge astronomical rates because there’s enough wealthy (not terribly bright) people to pay said rates I won’t do it.
