I’m having a hard time coming up with the words to describe the impact Dr. Merricks had on my daughter and our family. My daughter went from a kid that didn’t think she could ever be “normal” to a star athlete with a ton of confidence. She accepts that she has this thing and just lives her life to the fullest. She’s a teenager now and she’s expressed interest in doing what Dr. Merricks does when she gets older. I just can’t say enough good things.
Dr. Amanda has truly changed our family. We have tried several difference counselors/therapists over the years to help my pre-teen on the spectrum with his emotion regulation. It was a daily struggle that resulted in countless hours of screaming meltdowns no matter what we tried and we felt like we were barely holding it together. With his autism, we never knew what to allow (because it was beyond his control) and what to push back on. I do not recommend this practice .
Dr. Merricks and her staff are highly trained, take the time to get to know their patients, and provide quality treatment and evaluations. They are one of the top practices in the Tampa Bay Area. I strongly recommend this practice!
