I had the privilege of consulting with Katie on complex cases, as well as learn from her when she hosts her workshops, especially related to working with Trans or LGBTQ+ communities. Her training, knowledge, experience, and genuine care for serving our community makes her an asset to our field.
I took Katie's Trans 202: Competent Clinical Transgender Care with WPATH SOC 8 Updates. As a genderqueer individual, I was pleasantly surprised to how affirming this training was. It was informative and trauma informed. Katie uses stigma reducing language and names other language or clinical techniques that can perpetuate harm to clients and encourages us to avoid that language.
Katie Leikam was an excellent presenter. She was knowledgeable, personable and passionate about the subject matter. I look forward to learning more from her in future continuing education classes.
