Get directions30+ min late to an appointment at 8:30am. Completely minimized my concerns, only talked about herself, compared me to a male patient (saying i wasn't that bad compared their symptoms), made assumptions and did not ask any questions. When i told Dr. Ackerman i felt minimized, rather than being apologetic, she was defensive and gaslight me then stormed out of the appointment. The worst doctor experience i've ever had. Would NOT recommend 0/10
Did not adequately meet my needs as a patient, sent to out to other doctors despite noting they would be able to handle my case.
Did not listen with an open mind, nor did she give me space to air my worries and past history that may have contributed to my most current injury. She acted as if she knew all the answers before even meeting me. I did not feel supported during our visits and felt abandoned instead of cared for.
As a chronically ill 34 years old, I've seen more than 50 doctors in my life, and Dr. Ackerman and her team top that list! She takes the whole person into account, not just the symptoms, which is so hard to find in a good specialist! I recommend her any chance I get!
