I went to Dr. Merrill and at first she was ok. On my last visit she waited until we were out of the exam room and answered a very personal question in front of the other staff in the office. She likes to find ways to demean people. It was embarrassing and I never went back.
Stay clear of this doctor and staff! I also came with full medical records and details of current prescribed medications which she at first visit said she would not change, after a couple visits changed much of my medication and was unwilling to stick with changes I asked for. I am a RN with a bachelors and was treated like a idiot with medications and conditions. I will not be going back! I will go to my previous provider (Portland area). Steer clear. She pushed me to take a medication I really didn't want to take which caused a life long health issue. I have been dealing with for six years now. Rude and dismissive. When I told her that this caused a major life change for me she laughed it off. I wouldn't go back if she were the only choice here.
She was caring kind & considerate. I am on the Affordable Care Act & she didn't treat me like I was. She understood my financial situation & worked with me. She is the 1st doctor I have found in a long time I like! For that matter, all the staff are great!
She is our family doctor. She is a joy to visit with. Very easy to talk to. Very informative. She truly cares about our health.
Dr. Merrill is rushed; a 15 minute appointment is condensed to 5 minutes. Office doesn't follow up on test results. Front office staff is rude.
An awful experience. I arrived w/ complete medical records, in good health, having been treated by excellent MDs for years in a major West coast city. But she would not refill my longtime Rx's. I tried the meds she advised, & they were ineffective. When I tried to give detailed input & ask questions, she was irritated -- almost combative. This attitude was upsetting & completely unnecessary. I later heard two neighbors recount similar experiences with this dr. Stay away & save yourself the grief
I really like Dr. Merrill. I believe that she is an excellent doctor. She really listens to my concerns. She advocates on my behalf and does not believe in self-shaming. She answers my questions and explains everything completely.
I was a patient, getting older and my kids were grown, I thought I needed a diff type of MD, so I transferred to an Int Med MD. I made it clear that it had nothing to do with the quality of care I received and considered her a friend. Fast forward, new doc is leaving the area and I asked to come back. I was flatly refused with no exception. So, if you have a spot, don't give it up. You can avoid my hurt feelings and disappointment. Clearly, I was unaware of the slamming door when I left.
