During my exam she was preoccupied with entering data into computer. I asked her to look at me as we talked and she briefly raised her eyes to make contact. It was important for her to complete her data screens in her computer. She does most of her follow up communication via email on the portal. Not a very caring approach that I was seeking. I went into my first appt hopeful, as I tend to find NPs to be better at being empathetic and listening to their patients, but when I went to see her, it was VERY rushed (someone actually knocked on the door to hurry her 15 minutes in). I also got the distinct feeling from how she treated me and didn't initially order any tests/say anything at all really about a group of symptoms that are concerning me that she either thought I was exaggerating or lying for attention or something.
