The two best massage therapists I've ever had are the two massage therapists at Kate's Day Spa. Kate (the owner) and Heather both give phenomenal massages, are pleasant and easy-to-talk to, intuitive. Although I am not a super-frequent customer (I wish I could afford to go all the time!), they both remember the type of massage I like, and that I don't like pressure on my lower back. They are so wonderful. The setting itself feels like a hug. It's an oasis. It's not glossy or fancy as some spas I've been to (which can be fun,... read more

Like walking into a comfort and relaxation bubble – I have been going to Kate's Day Spa for over 15 years. Kate is a hands-on owner; she cares deeply about her work and every person who comes in the door. You walkk in from the sidewalk through an outdoor hall, into a small courtyard, and into the spa. Because it is secluded, only the door from the courtyard is unlocked if staff are with customers, but there is a lovely waiting area. Kate decorates her business with things she lov es: wonderful vintage furniture, beautiful ar... read more

Healing Oasis – I don't know where the negative reviewer, went but it was not here. Maybe that person needs to go back to LA. because Kates Day Spa is quintecencially Seattle, owned and operated by a local homegrown seattlite. The spa is quiet and quaint, a nice dip away from city life, comfortable like a best friend's house. I recommend steaming before your massage, and the massages are heaven, you can really tell that she is a veteran and a professional, I feel like my spirit and my body were tenderly taken care of and hea... read more

Best massage ever! – The atmosphere at this spa was relaxing and very inviting. Antiques draped with lace, low lights, candles, incense, and unfamiliar, but relaxing, music played in the background. The little dog that stayed in a corner of the entrance way was friendly and did not jump on me. I was told that I could bring my miniature yorkshire next time if it was well behaved and would stay in my room quietly. I hate to leave her in the car and she goes everywhere with me. The spa was clean and did not spell of animals. I ... read more

Totally Unprofessional! – I do not recommend this spa. It was clearly a waste of my money. I went there for my birthday, took the day off, etc. The lady that opened the door was holding a small dog and for a minute I thought I was at the wrong place; the door was locked, so I had to wait until somebody would come and find me at this very rustic "reception". On top of the dog, the woman was not dressed professionally, like with spa-apron, or something like that. She had stay-home clothes, and had a weird gaze, like on "medica... read more

A homey neighborhood spa steams things up. – The Scene Don't expect fancy spa surroundings: Kate's looks more like a friend converted her living space into a spa with lavender walls, Victorian antiques and a few garage sale furnishings. But don't let the absence of glitz stop you from trying one of the treatments at the hands of capable and friendly aestheticians--and sweating in one of the few steam baths in town. The Services Try a deep-tissue massage from Shawna. The Honey Body Glow may make you feel like a human granola ... read more

Steamed Away Stress! – I recieved a special "Zing" Treatment for mother's day from my hubby. Tucked away in this corner off Madison is a real gem. I recieved a Grand Facial, a one hour massage from Kate, the owner, and an incredible "Ultimate Foor Treatment," where I even got a Masque for my FEET!! Wow! I would come back. After the steam and massage I already felt like butter, and by the end I was in heaven! My husband is such a good boy! :-)
