Very awesome & makes for a nice little stop if you're driving through Illinois. Yes the fire would look better at night. The fire lasts about 15 seconds per token so if you want multiple pics or videos get more than one coin. The coins are pretty neat looking too.
The Kaskaskia Dragon is one of those roadside stops that makes you do a double take—in the best way. An ok roadside attraction. It offered a chance to get out of the car and walk. We visited during the day. It was hard to see the flame. It would be much better at night.
I saw a post on FB and sent to my husband and so we went the next day. Its off the road and there's not much to do or look at but it was a fun excursion. We went during the day and figured at night would be better. You will need to go across the street to the liquor store and grab tokens. They are $1 each.
