There was nothing Ayurvedic about her approach. The discussion was limited to my patient history and a few general suggestions about improving my diet. There was no mention of Ayurvedic concepts like prakriti, vikriti, or body type assessment. She attempted to sell me some pills at an unreasonably high price, without providing their names. I recognized one of them as Triphala Guggulu, which is widely available on the market for under $10—she was charging $33 for it.
