I just saw the 1 star review here for Dr. Karpman and had to laugh. I spent a year with severe lower back pain and had visited at least 8-10 doctors over its duration with some seriously idiotic results. One doctor "prescribed" me two books on how to deal with chronic back pain. Most others prescribed anything from 222's to motrin and had little idea of the cause. Being a fighter I was looking for a family doctor knowledgeable in combative sports. Dr. Karpman was recommended to me by numerous peers in the fight community. I found him to be friendly and informative.
My worst experience with any doctor has been with Dr. Karpman. He was not receptive to work with me through my injury, and stated his medical opinions with a lack of tact and bedside manner. I was looking for recommendation for surgery, was denied. I did physio for two months, still had major issues, and upon another request for recommendation of surgery, was denied due to the reason that I am “young and healthy” and that I could “just live with it, like how older people do”.
