Dr Hurst-Wicker helped my elderly mother deal with multiple recurring spine fractures and the results he achieved were miraculous! My mom loved him and looked forward to her appointments because she knew he would help her feel better.
Dr H is a partner in my pain management treatment. He listens, provides information on alternatives, and ultimately works with me to reach the right course of treatment.
I have been seeing Dr. Hurst-Wicker for 3 years now. He is an excellent physician. He listens to his patients and provides a variety of options for treatment. He genuinely cares about patient care.
Dr Hurst-Wicker is a very kind, patient, and competent doctor. He explains the situation and what can be done about it clearly and he has helped me immeasurably. The staff at the front desk are friendly and capable, and his staff are always outstanding. They explain what they are doing each step of the way. I've been going to him for several years for arthritic complications that other doctors had not helped. Each time he has done what was needed to make me feel better and to be more mobile
Due to recent CDC guidelines he cut my dose of narcotics in half (a does I had been taking regularly for for 4 years) for safety reasons. Which was ok but he did not cover the extra pain I had due to the cut back in narcotics. He told me my pain receptors would "reset" and I was "completly healthy". After 45 days of increased back pain (I have multiple level degeneration of the lower spine) I left. I don't think he really cared or believed me. I found a new provider that has helped me.
Extremely pleasant demeanor and presence. Dr. Hurst-Wicker and his staff were all professional and made me feel at ease with pain issues I was having despite my fear that it maybe more serious. I was provided an easy explanation of my symptoms and the roadmap to recovery. I would highly recommend Dr. Hurst-Wicker to friends and family!
Dr. Hurst-Wicker is a skilled physician and diagnostician, and he is personable. He performs a thorough physical exam and history, and as a retired board certified emergency nurse, I know what how important those things are. No other pain doctor has done these things, or made me feel they are interested in my outcome. My pain will require ongoing care, but I have never experienced such success in pain reduction. He is my pain care partner and share my values for wanting integrative care.
