Saw Dr Matta Toomey after two very bad experiences with Gyn at LWR and SMH, both of them had excellent reviews. The gyn at smh wanted to surgery without even looking at test results. The one at LWR called and told me in her most upbeat voice, that my pregnancy was abnormal. Got in to see Dr Matta toomey fairly quickly. She first met me in her office, while i was fully clothed, and reviewes US with me. I eneded up needing a D+C, not open surgery. She was compassionate, kind, thorough, gentle.
She is competent and compassionate. She took time to explain procedures to my husband as well as having already gone over them with me several times. Very patient and kind. I appreciate her thoroughness. She listens and responds accordingly, so that you know she actually heard what you said or what you were trying to say. She is the best.
Dr. Matta-Toomey is a decent doctor, but has poor availability. The office in general is inadequate. The front desk & support staff are abrupt, unsympathetic, & inefficient. You will be placed on hold for an appointment for an average of 7 minutes. Questions that you submit through the patient portal (which patients are encouraged to use) are answered incompletely. Calls involving specific concerns get transferred to multiple people and then eventually you need to leave a message on a voicemail.
Dr. Matta-Tommey was awesome! She was thorough, intelligent and professional, and still had a way of making me feel comfortable when I usually feel very stressed at the GYN! Highly recommended!
Dr. Matta-Toomey is truly remarkable. I can't believe the marks she has on here! Being an OB patient, I have seen her several times over the past year. She is thorough and consultative, something I appreciate in my care. I highly recommend Dr. Matta-Toomey and all of the other physicians at West Coast OB-GYN!
