Awesome home style fitness facility. Run professionally and is about the only open style gym in Port Aransas. Glad we went.

As a winter Texan in Port Aransas, I was so happy to find Karen Decker’s gym that enabled me to stay on track with my fitness goals. The gym has two floors of equipment for use and I was able to access everything I needed. The gym’s 24/7 availability is an added bonus, as it allowed me to workout when it was convenient for my schedule. I’ll be coming back to workout in the gym next year when we’re back.

Edit: After my review, I had a great call with Akren. Again, even after criticism, she was very kind. It's come to my attention that I did not get the full experience of the gym. I had no idea there was an upstairs, which based on the description is where I would have found myself at home. I've increased my rating from three stars to four in this edit because Karen is the type of person who you should want to do business with. Definitely a great place to go when you are on vacation. Absolutely worth the 10/day pass especially if you consider that they have 24x7 access to their facilities. Pros: Price point, availability, attitude, and trust. Cons: Do not expect this gym to be like an outlet gym such as LA fitness, Anytime Fitness, Plant Fitness, etc. Much of both floors are kind of cluttered with random pieces of equipment and the cable equipment machine (1st floor) looks like something from the 80s, so use it at your discretion. I joined Karen’s gym at the beginning of the year, and it has been great! The equipment is really impressive and Karen is an excellent personal trainer, pushing me to always work hard, but also mindful of safety and not over exerting. I have heard Karen with other patrons, local and visitors, from our high school students to winter Texans, and she is always courteous and helpful.
