Dr. Canlas is the best gastrologist in Evansville. She really listens and cares about her patients.
I'm 63 with Crohn's. Never been to another GI dr. before. Called Deaconess to make an appt. Was told it had been just over 3 yrs since my last visit, then told I would be a new patient since it had been over 3 yrs, then told she isnt taking new patients. WOW, now I have to start over with a new dr. Wonder when that started Deaconess? Do yourself a favor and find one who's independent. Find one who truly cares about their patients and is happy when they have a bit of time between flares rather than casting them aside.
Been my doctor for years. She's the best!
Dr Canlas was very courteous, showed great concern and empathy. She listened intently and showed knowledge and encouragement.
Refused to work with my wife on finding solutions for her issues with her pancreas. She requested to be sent to IU where they had an action plan to help her with her issues. I would recommend requesting another doctor with more knowledge of GI issues because she is a novice.
