I have been seeing Karen for about 5 years off and on. Karen has helped me both personally, as well as with couples sessions involving my very dysfunctional extended family issues. She is always attentive and sheds a lot of very good insight as to helpful ways to cope with whatever we are experiencing at the time. I would not recommend this therapist. The Gottman methods and theory can be a powerful communication tool for couples but this therapist has book knowledge grasp only and is not prepared to manage a couple in crisis. Goals of therapy should include being able to share ones feelings without shaming or blaming the other partner. Giving a partner a chance to share what is in their heart and respond to heart sharing in a way that could have a positive impact on the relationship whether it stays intact or dissolves.
