Do not buy these trailers. Bought a Karavan for my 22' Pontoon Boat. The backup mechanism is the worst ever and constantly fighting with it. The piece that is supposed to fit in and stop the mechanism from sliding back will not stay in even with duck tape or a bungee cord. This is the stupidest set up I have seen on a boat trailer in 60 years of boating. Whoever designed this hated boat owners!
I bought a small Karavan trailer almost 1 year ago. I was working in the Navajo Nation and unable to make an appointment to register it. My elderly father offered to do it then lost the registration and title packet. I’ve tried to get a replacement title from HD ever since. No help! Tiffany (truly a customer servant!) stepped up and worked with HD to make it happen!! My title is in route so I can finally use the trailer! Thank you Tiffany!!
I contacted Customer Service and spoke with Karavan Customer Agent Tiffany R., requesting specifications a boat trailer for shipment. With the VIN number, Tiffany provided the information allowing the completion the shipment.
First of all, the customer service warranty manager refuses to speak with me on the phone so that I can further explain the issue. Instead of speaking on the phone, she decided me sending pictures of the trailer damage was better by email and having a lengthy conversation over a weeks time was a better way to treat her customer. I recently bought a Karavan trailer from home depot, when got this trailer home, and tried to load my riding lawn mower on it, I noticed how short the tailgate is, and how unsafe this trailer is to load something on it, I am not sure if this was done as a cost saving measure, or a design flaw, but either way I predict someone will get hurt using these trailers.
I bought a Karavan utility trailer last fall, used it only once, been stored in garage since. I went to use it this week and when I tried to put the ramp down both hinges broke right off, scraped up one of the taillights and my leg. The hinges for the tailgate/ramp are rated at 1676 lbs, but just snapped off from the weight of the aluminum ramp.
