We've purchased two violins from Kapeller. Jane Kapeller is a wonderful person who takes the time to match the right instrument to the musician. She helped both of my daughters find violins that they absolutely love. I trust that her pricing is fair, for both instruments and service. Everything about the buying experience is great - except that the entire building smells like a dirty ashtray. Not so sure about this place. They seem to know good violins though & are dedicated to ideal instruments.
It's a beautiful thing, really. I walk into this beautiful shop and time stops. I feel transported and never rushed. High quality service and very inexpensive pricing given their attention to detail and labor intensity of service and work. It's so rare in this age to find a business with unassailable integrity. I've begged them twice to take my money to upgrade to a pricier instrument. They refused on both occasions, telling me my son wasn't ready for the upgrade and that I could save money and continue with the one we have.... read more

Met Mrs Kapeller whilebpicking up a cello that required some repair. They know their string instruments and I learned a few things duringy brief visit. Excellent work and very reasonably priced. Will return when I need anything strings. 👍🏽😊
