I attend the Buddhist mediation services at the Temple Buddhist Center inside the Unity Temple on Sunday. I was interested in expanding my experiences so on a whim I decided to attend the Korean Zen Mediation service last night. Wow! Just wow! I had no idea what I was getting myself into, however, I discovered something new to me that I enjoyed more than any other meditation. Plus, it was such an honor to meet Zen Master Bon Hae. Thank you so much to Judy, Bill, Charlie, and Wanda.
It is rare to find a gem when you aren't looking, the kind that shines most brightly!
Every Tues/Thurs I jump out of bed, excited to get to the Kansas Zen Center to practice. The familiar feel/sound of the gravel path & the soft light of the Dharma room are so inviting. The sound of the bell fills the room as we come together to practice. What an honor to sit with two Zen Masters who openly share their practical teaching. I ask myself the same question every time. Why isn't every person in Lawrence coming to practice here?
I was married here twice to the same woman. I'm not a Buddhist but this is a peaceful place.
