Phenomenally peaceful prairie experience. Even if the bison aren't in view, if you enjoy birding, you wil have a fruitful time there. The Nature Conservancy has expertly restored this area to a status it had 2 centuries ago, inviting and attracting species of all kinds to return. A hidden gem in Indiana to be sure. We visited on a Sunday afternoon in July. We would have appreciated a sign at the visitor center giving us an idea of where to best look for the bison. We finally found them on the south side of the area in a water hole.

No way to know where the Bison are. If you are struggling to find them on a very hot day try driving along the southern border where there is a watering hole.
