My doctor's office could not get me in for flu shot in time to be adequately vaccinated for upcoming holiday. Kankakee County HD told me over phone that yes- I could receive it with my insurance card. I let my Doctor office know I was getting it there. I arrived only to find that I had to have a referral in order to use my HMO insurance. The Kankakee Health Dept. workers were very supportive and patient while I obtained that document.
