I had an appointment today with Shavonne Hill. Unfortunately, I have never had an experience quite like this one; I left the office and just cried in my car. Shavonne Hill exhibited horrible bedside manner, lacked empathy, and treated me as though I did not deserve any dignity. Both before and after the testing, she failed to explain anything and chose to remain completely mute instead of communicating with me. This was one of the most disappointing medical appointments our family has experienced. My grandmother has worsening dementia and was seeing PA Hill. Rather than taking the time to listen and gather information, the PA repeatedly interrupted instructing my grandmother to answer only “yes” or “no” and seemed uninterested in hearing any additional details about her symptoms, or concerns. No one informed me that my insurance had not been cleared for approval until I arrived, even though all of my information had been presented more than a week prior. I paid out of pocket unnecessarily. The nurse practitioner Shavonne Hill spent very little time with me, insisted on prescribing rizatriptan which she said should relieve 50 percent of my headache pain, and made no recommendations for holistic remedies. I had a very disappointing experience at this neurology clinic. During my visit, the doctor made me feel doubtful and uncomfortable about my concerns rather than taking them seriously. What made it worse was the nurse in the room she was shaking her head and giving me looks that felt judgmental and disrespectful. As a patient, you expect to be treated with professionalism and respect, especially when discussing your health. Unfortunately, this visit did not meet that standard at all. Shavonne Hill, NP failed to renew an antipsychotic prescription, despite repeated calls and messages via the patient portal, led to the patient's abrupt cessation of the medication. This drug was prescribed to manage aggression stemming from a diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease. The sudden withdrawal of the medication coincided with the patient experiencing a fall for the first time.
