Take a man with you when going there. I am in my 60s and the mechanics look you up and down when you ask a mechanical question. Don't get anything done aside from your tires. On a positive note, the manager is great and the lady who works there. I was quoted $1700. + to fix/ a cv joint boot. Went there to get a wheel alignment and was told I couldn't get it done without a bunch of additional work. The tie rod ends and rear pinion bearing were loose and are required to be replaced. I asked for a quote and was told only for the tie rod ends it was going to be 550$ and they were working on the pinion bearing quote but wasn't done. I just replaced the front struts on the truck over the weekend myself and checked the tie rod ends so I was wondering what was up. I've consistently had positive experiences with this store. They're always courteous and professional. When advised elsewhere to replace my tires after two years, Kal Tires instead provided a cost-effective service that let me keep them. I'll return here for future services.
Edit: I brought my truck back a fourth time, after the manager of Kal Tire called. The tires were properly balanced after this visit. I am happy the manager is dedicated to rectifying the situation, but disappointed that an attention to detail/proper balancing in the first place was not a priority. I do appreciate the situation being rectified, and the manager calling to follow up. I've been quite disappointed with Kal Tire in Cochrane.
