The Kaiser Berkeley Medical Office is easy to get to, and an efficient all-in-one site for basic medical needs. Dr. Salinas, my personal physician, is focused, knowledgable and engaged--I highly recommend her.
This is twice that I’ve gone to a walk-in clinic in the later part of their open hours and they’ve closed early because they don’t have the staffing. The hours are early enough as it is, so this is super inconvenient. Don’t bother with this place if it’s an hour before close, go to SF or Oakland Kaiser instead.
I always have a great experience at Dr. Shaw's office in Berkeley -- from the time I check-in to the time I leave her office. She has a friendly and caring staff who goes above and beyond a patient's needs -- more than once her office staff has called me directly when a situation merited immediate attention. Her staff also does a great job at keeping us well informed during times when Dr. Shaw would be out of the office, and they also do their best at arranging appointments with a substitute doctor. Dr. PHipps was professional, personable and... well, she was just about perfect. Her examination and the questions she asked during the exam thoroughly covered the problem (infection of finger) and how I was feeling. And her recommended approach toward dealing with the infection seems to have begun working 36 hours after first taking the antibiotic she prescribed.
Friendly Staff and knowledgeable Doctor...you feel safe and secure.
