Fantastic experience for a not so fun vacation mishap. We were seen very quickly for my daughter’s infected cut from coral. Everyone was kind and they worked quickly to get her treated and discharged.
Saw a doctor today for my son’s ear infection. He was very nice. On the other hand we got a very impatient, impolite and rude long blond hair male nurse who didn’t seem to understand the language barrier issue.. Made us very uncomfortable …
Dr. Lee and the nurses here were incredibly kind and compassionate. I ended up being admitted for, what I found out later, was a panic attack. They were very thorough and made me feel at ease. No one wants to get sick on vacation, but they made it a quick and relatively easy trip. They even helped me find a bus stop to get back into Waikiki. I wish I could remember my nurses name, because she was a saint. Made me feel so much better. Thank you, Kahuku Medical Center!
No one wants to end up in the ER while on vacation. However, that change of plans put us in the ER at Kahuku Medical on a Sunday evening. My traveling companion fell and hit his head, resulting in a frantic drive from our rental condo. The receptionist gave us a warm greeting and paperwork was the usual. This ER was one of the worst experiences of my life. I got sick while on vacation, so I came here for help with stomach pain and vomiting. They had no ultrasound machine so they gave me a CT Scan. Machine breaks and I had to wait 4 hours for results. I regretted going to the ER at that point. Ended up leaving with anti nausea meds, no answers, and a $1500 hospital bill.
