If we had known before closing what the HOA situation in Stafford Lakes would actually be like, we would never have purchased a home in this community. I bought a home in the new section of Rocky Run Village based on a vision presented to us, including a separate HOA and exclusive amenities like pickleball courts and a soccer field. Many of those promises never materialized. As a consumer, I regret buying this house. I gave up good schools and a better commute for a home that is aesthetically pleasing, but the verdict is still out on construction quality. For this price point, I expected more based on what I was told by sales, especially after missing out on buying a single family home in Bristow, Gainesville, or Haymarket before the first major data center arrived and the completion of the 66 Express Lanes in both directions. So far, the experience has been decent, and we are continuing to monitor the process as we move through it. I have seen comments describing Ashlee as coming across like a car salesman, and I do not agree with that assessment. She is proactive, responsive, and clearly driven, which can sometimes be misinterpreted. In my experience so far, she has been helpful and communicative, not greedy like the other sales reps.
