I really wish I would have checked this before signing up for Just Energy. As others have said, it’s a scam. I ended up paying a rate that was twice as high as Consumers. I called bow and was eventually able to cancel. They said it could take one to two months to see that reflected on my bill. I’m hoping that’s accurate and that I don’t have to call multiple times like other people have expressed.
I was approached by a sales representative for Just Energy Michigan Corp inside the Taylor, Michigan Walmart on January 9, 2026 around 6:30 PM. The representative asked who my gas provider was. When I answered DTE, she stated that because of that, I had “won a reward,” and claimed that Walmart thanks and rewards its customers. This was used to gain my compliance and trust. Horrible. I was tricked into signing up for this at my local Sam’s Club sales tech never sent email to me with any information. Good luck getting someone to help you over the phone they “can’t” transfer you to Customer Service and the automated system is impossible to get by. If anyone from this company approaches you RUN.
Called several times in 2025 to cancel. Nothing was ever done. Called today and they have NO RECORD of me calling the first two times, which is why I am still with them for over a year. Just Energy is too high and I keep calling to cancel over and over and over. I am ready to get the BBB involved. Do I have sue to get out of this high nonsense billing cycle??
