Life saver. Period
She was awful. I shared my years of sexual harassment trauma and she responded “so you’re saying you had a hard time because you’re pretty?” Why did she think it was appropriate to minimize something so traumatic for me and place the blame on my appearance? She also told me that my (now ex) husband didn’t need to confront his toxic, alcoholic, drug addicted family for their mistreatment of me and said, instead, I should spend the rest of that marriage “telling white lies” to avoid seeing them. How insane.
I had six sessions with Dr. Epstein-Browell. During our initial intake phone call, I noticed she often interrupted my introduction with her opinions. Initially, she helped me address some of my current limited thoughts, which I found beneficial. Her approach to psychotherapy involved asking questions like, "What's next?" or "What are the solutions?" but she rarely provided concrete answers herself.
