Josiah is one of the most caring and best neurologist in Spokane. I highly recommend him. He is one of the brightest bulbs in the box. ;-)
I don’t normally review medical professionals but being a young woman & seeking treatment can be difficult. Mr. Newton explained that “deep breathing exercises, mindfulness, and Tai Chi” could help treat chronic pain… He needs to work on his bedside manner, behavior, and attitude towards his patients. Physiatrists treat pain and for him to suggest that the pain is all in my head, is incredibly negligent. After having worked with many types of medical providers, Josiah Newton is by far the worst I have seen. He is frequently sarcastic with his speech, sometimes bordering on caustic. On at least two occasions, he has been verbally abusive. I tried overlooking the first situation, though very hurt. But I cannot now overlook his recent angry diatribe. Dr. Newton helped me SO much with my back after a 14-month long journey of fighting to be taken seriously. He helped me get the testing, procedures, and diagnosis I greatly needed, and took the time to educate me on what was really going wrong. I am thankful to have found a team that was so kind and easy to work with from day one. The nursing and check-in staff were all so wonderful and sweet, and they helped me feel so comfortable in a situation that has caused me so much distress this year. Thank you all!!
