Great doctor and staff
I recently started seeing Dr Smithson after moving to Nashville and needing a PCP. He is so thorough getting medical history and doing wellness checks, has excellent bedside manner, and helped me get off of medication from labor complications (which I feared would be chronic). I am very happy to be with him and he seems like he really cares about his patients. Definitely recommend!
As a professional supporting families, I called Dr. Smithson's office and was told they only set appointments with patients and families. I find that to be a very odd and unhelpful guideline as patients and families welcome help from professionals in the healthcare field with the details of a patient's care. That needs to be readdressed, in my view, and would keep me from recommending Dr. Smithson to any patient or family member. It takes a village to care for a patient well.

Dr. Smithson has been my PCP for several years. He is kind, thorough, available and a good listener. I have never felt rushed or ignored. I am an RN and have always felt that his assessments and plans of care for me have been well thought out and well executed. If you are looking for a primary care doctor....really - look no further!.
