0/10 would NOT recommend Joe. He is extremely disorganized and will have a new excuse as to why he hasn’t done anything each phone call. Whether it’s a vacation, chiefs game, or a “broken email”. If he tells you he will cover the lawyer fees, he is lying. He gave incorrect legal advice, resulting in the worst for his client. We believe our situation would have been completely different if we had not made the mistake of hiring Joe DeWoskin.
My son unfortunately used Joe for his divorce/custody case. Joe was not timely or prompt with communication. He often waited until he absolutely had to (aka day before court dates) work and communicate regarding the case. He didn’t listen to the wants and/or needs of my son’s case. One of the last appearances Joe unapologetically kept reminding my son how much this was costing him. He has represented me in two separate cases over the past four years, and throughout that entire time, he has consistently demonstrated honesty, fairness, and complete transparency. Joe was reliable, calm, responsive, caring and available. I could always count on him to be professional and direct in his guidance and advice. His knowledge of the law is thorough. He was fair and honest in his billing, and did everything possible to keep expenses reasonable, while ensuring appropriate legal representation. I highly recommend him.
I would not recommend Joe as your divorce attorney, I made the mistake of paying him up front. He rushed you through the whole process, only giving you about 15 minutes per office visit and not explaining much. I watched him treat his Legal Secretary like a piece of dog meat due to him being unorganized. Joe was always last minute with court filing deadlines too.
