I had dinner at Jory a couple of nights ago. Overall it was disappointing, especially for a restaurant that is supposed to be one of the best in the area. I selected from the “daily” menu and had cauliflower manchego soup to start. It arrived luke warm and I had to send it back for a hot bowl of soup on a rainy day. One of the best dining experiences I've ever had! The staff here offer a warm welcome and the food has a very well balance of texture, temperature and flavor. The pairing of the wine with the courses tells me they understand the pallet. We will definitely be back!
Today is my birthday. It has become a tradition of mine to go get a massage at the Allison Spa, and then have lunch at their Jory Restaurant. Last year (2024), I had a bad experience trying to get any service in the restaurant. I stuck it out and got through it eventually. Over the course of the year, I forgot about it. We sat in the piano bar and it was lovely. Service was excellent. I had a steak and it was nothing like the last time. Perhaps because of the late hour or something?
