I was so demoralized by this first visit, I left crying. Immediately, in office, I was pushed into the managed health care system by being pushed into multiple screenings that are not even remotely related to the chronic fatigue/autoimmune symptoms I have. I came prepared with a list of what I was experiencing, and what has been tested for, but instead of being able to talk about them, I was condescendingly chastised about the medication I am on to cope with the symptoms. Dr.Shumway and his nurse CarrieAnn have been such a help to me with my medications and saving me money. They are very kind and knowledgeable in all we discuss. I feel they are doing a great job in helping people and want to tell them thank you
I don’t know where to begin. Dr. Shumway is my doctor, and my mom’s doctor. He is, by far, the best doctor we have ever had. He truly cares about his patients. He actually called me, personally, because I had missed my yearly physical. He doesn’t rush you, he will address all your questions and concerns. The thing I admire most about him, is the way he has cared for my mom. She was having some issues, and he said, I want you to see a cardiologist ASAP, and have an echocardiogram. Dr. Shumway and his nurses listened to us and were very helpful. They care about you as a patient and assist you in making informed decisions about your healthcare. A very nice change from doctors who just do treatments without explaining why.
